Rush Hour Market: a co-op grocery rush

Rush Hour Market cover art
Co-op, fast, chaotic

Rush Hour Market

1–4 players · 3 min per shift

A tiny grocery on its busiest day. Customers bring tickets: apples and milk, sliced cheese on fresh bread, fish wrapped for dinner. Your crew stocks the shelves, works the deli, the oven and the wrapping counter, packs the right bag and runs it to checkout before the customer gives up.

Nobody has a fixed job, so the team has to talk. Six shops, from a quiet first shift to a packed grand opening, with three minutes per shift.

All 21 games for $9/month (see plans) or play once for $30.

How it differs from couch co-op

Co-op cooking games are made for a couch. Here is what changes when the group is on a call.

Typical console co-op Superglue
Who needs the game Often every player needs their own copy for online play. Only the organiser needs an account. Everyone else joins from the link.
Installing A console or a PC download, plus an online account. Nothing to install. It runs in the browser.
Playing remotely Everyone needs the same platform, or the host streams the couch view. Everyone plays on their own laptop or phone and talks on any call.
Round length A few minutes per level. Three minutes per shift, so a lunch break fits several.

More co-op games that need fast talking

Same idea, different setting: everybody wins or loses together, and nobody can do it alone.

Games like Overcooked: questions

Is there a browser game like Overcooked?

Yes. Rush Hour Market is a co-op grocery rush for 1–4 players that runs in the browser. Customers bring order tickets, and the team stocks shelves, slices, bakes, wraps and packs bags against a three-minute clock.

Can we play an Overcooked-style game online without everyone buying it?

Yes. In Rush Hour Market only the organiser needs a Superglue account. Everyone else opens the link and plays. It is included in Plus ($9 a month), or you can play it once for $30.

Are there free co-op games like this?

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and Robo Word Finder and Holloway are free co-op games in the browser. They are puzzles more than cooking, but they need the same kind of fast talking.

How many people can play?

Rush Hour Market takes 1–4 players per shop. For a bigger group, start several rooms: the Team plan runs up to 5 at once.

Is it good for team building?

Yes. Nobody has a fixed job, so the shift only works when people say what they are doing. One shift is three minutes, which suits a meeting opener. See online team games for more.

Is Superglue connected to Overcooked?

No. Superglue is an independent game platform. Overcooked is a trademark of its owner, and we use the name only to describe the kind of game people search for.
