About Backrooms Escape

Backrooms Escape takes your group down through five rooms you can look around in 360°: the yellow Level 0 office, the Long Halls, a red-lit utility floor, the flooded Poolrooms and the Threshold at the bottom.

Every puzzle is built from symbols and counts, not sentences, so a group spread across countries can play without a shared first language. And no puzzle can be finished by one person, so everyone keeps talking, comparing what they see and planning the next move.

The mood is eerie and quiet: damp carpet, buzzing lights, rooms that go on forever. There is no gore and nothing jumps out at you. People who have never played anything like it keep up fine.

How to play Backrooms Escape

  1. Join the call and the game

Everyone opens the session link in a browser and types a name. Keep your video call running beside the game window.

  2. Look around each level

Drag to look around in 360°. Glowing markers show what you can open. Doors move the whole group down a level.

  3. Work as a team

Anyone can open a puzzle and everyone sees the same state. Split up, take a spot each and say out loud what you find.

  4. Find the way out

A few moments need everyone to act at once. Five levels, about an hour, each one stranger than the last.
